Nutrition in Ayurveda with Shannon Mooney

Nutrition in Ayurveda

Ayurveda holds that we are not just what we eat, but what we digest. In this workshop, I will give a brief overview of Ayurveda and the three doshas and how they manifest uniquely within each individual. From there, I will cover the Seven Pillars of Nutrition, the importance of Agni (digestive fire), food combining, an overview of the digestion process, role of the mind and emotions in the digestive process, appropriate use of herbs, supplements and spices, and cravings.

Shannon Mooney has a B.A. in English and French from SUNY Albany. She is a graduate of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
